Purpose of the Marriage Haven Seminar

 

 

Our purpose and mission of our Marriage Haven Seminars is to develop strong marriage relationships through bible based teachings of the basic principles of marriage found in the Word of God.

 

• Counsel:  To those who are engaged to be married, you will receive the understanding and knowledge to have a healthy relationship and these teachings will guide you through the critical stages of their marriage.

 

• Direct and Enhance:  Marriages that are experiencing problems or that are in a catastrophic place, our mission is to bring healing through the biblical principle of forgiveness so that your marriages can turn around.

 

• Fortify:  We encourage those with good, healthy marriage relationships to attend so you can receive reinforcement and strengthen their marriage.

 

• Making the right decision:  The unmarried, who are believing the Lord and praying for a husband or wife, will be equipped to make the right choices towards choosing a spouse.

History of the Haven

 

The Annual Marriage Haven Seminar was birthed in 2009 from a desire to simply get together with the other married couples in the ministry for a weekend escape from the everyday routine - just you and your spouse. My husband and I were only married for a year and few months so I wanted to also learn as much as I could about this new stage of my life not only according to the word of God but also from the other examples of those who were married and could relate to each other whether we were married for a few months or many years.

 

Our first Haven was exclusively for the members of Fishers of Men but beginning the second year we opened up the Haven to those outside the ministry who were not only married but engaged as well, since we understood how valuable these teachings could be to those couples who are about to make a life-long commitment.

 

Every year, the Lord sends different couples not only from the Maryland area but from NY and PA as well and the scale of marriage relationships range from a few months to decades. The way the Lord moves in each Haven is not like the one before but is unique and extraordinary. The anointed teachings also, such as The Ingredients of a Good Marriage, Love is not Feelings and Healing our Marriages have all been dynamic and life changing topics which encouraged us to leave the Haven with a renewed commitment to each other.

 

Our vision is that the Haven will expand not only across the United States but internationally, to impact and change the lives of many so that they too can cultivate healthy marriage relationships and live the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
