Our Community Outreach Programs

God has given us a vision to feed, clothe, house, educate and deliver His people. He has blessed us with many ministries through which our goal is to achieve our vision on every level whether it be spritually, phyically or mentally.

Soup Kitchen

Our Soup Kitchen ministry began back in 1985 by our founders Elder Rudolph Chance and Prophetess Lottie Chance out of their very own kitchen. They were inspired by those that were homeless in the community and would occasionally ask for food or money. Elder Rudolph would welcome them into his home and provide a meal from whatever he had available. One night he fed about 8 people from the soup he had prepared for his own family to eat. This was the beginning of the daily soup distribution to averagely 45 people. In 1996, the soup kitchen expanded to weekly distributions of canned goods and clothing every Saturday.

We believe our Soup Kitchen is unique in that we are able to share our own special brand of love to our community. We have an opportunity once again to share the good news of the kingdom of Jesus Christ and feed His people at the same time. We provide a hot cup of soup, a warm hug and good conversation. Our soups are made not only with love but with natural and organic ingredients. One of our goals this spring is to grow our own vegetables to be used in our soups next winter. We will also be taking our soup to the streets as expand beyond our community to the homeless population on the streets of Baltimore. We are feeding God’s people, not only with the word of God but also feeding the natural body according to Psalms 41:1.

Back to School Community Music Night

Fishers of Men Deliverance Ministries began the Back to School Community Music Night back in 2002. Through prayer and observation it was evident that there was a need for this kind of resource that will support families in the community during the beginning of the school year. Congruent with the vision and mission of the ministry, our purpose is to serve the community and ensure that the children of all ages, from Pre-School to High School and even College students have everything they need to attend school at the beginning of each school year. We believe that every child is entitled to an education so it is our pleasure to assist in any way we can to help make that possible for families who may have difficulty affording the basic school supplies. It is a great honor to serve our community and dually important for us to invest in our young people. Combined with meeting the need of the children, we utilize this platform to also showcase the various choirs, Christian groups and Christian artists within the community.

The first year we launched the Back to School Community Music Night there were over 200 people in attendance and between 75-100 back packs filled with supplies were distributed to families in the 21223, 21216 & 21217 areas. Each year we continue to serve these surrounding neighborhoods with an average of 50 back packs with ample supplies. Our goal is to provide 500 back packs annually and to expand beyond our current catchment area. We also plan to add the voice of the community by setting up suggestion boxes so that we can hear from the families exactly what’s needed in efforts to better meet their needs.

A big thank you to all of the members of Fishers of Men who continue to support this ministry financially and with their time. We invite you to join us in sowing into the lives of the next generation with monetary donations, back packs or supplies.
